Roundin' Up Some Bucks

Roundin' Up Some Bucks

Howdy folks! It was the crack of dawn at 10:51 AM PDT on May 29, 2025, when Heron Power, a newfangled outfit ridin' the electric grid trail, hollered about rustlin' up a hefty $38 million in a Series A fundin’ round.

Transformin' the Range

This outfit, corralled by Drew Baglino, a former top hand from Tesla, is dabblin' in the development of solid-state transformers. These high-tech gadgets promise to be slicker and quicker than them old timer analog models. Transformers play a crucial part in the electric round-up, wranglin' voltage up and down as it navigates the vast terrain of the grid.

Medium-Voltage Mavericks

Heron Power’s got its sights on what they call medium-voltage transformers. This covers a whole mess of uses: from big ol' substations fenced in like a lonesome prairie, to those trusty green metal boxes scattered 'cross residential neighborhoods like cattle in the pasture.

First Rodeo in 2027

Heron’s eyein' the horizon for their first installations come early 2027. They’re hitchin’ wagons with big shot partners like “major energy and data center developers” to get the job done.

Big Guns in the Corral

Lead buckaroo Capricorn Investment Group headed the fundin' round, with a posse includin' Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Energy Impact Partners, Gigascale Capital, Powerhouse Ventures, and Valor Equity Partners. But that's not all; strappin' in were Tesla co-founder JB Straubel and the former Tesla CFO, Zach Kirkhorn, ready to ride the lightning with Heron Power.
